If you’re thinking about taking up the sport, consider the Soaring Orientation Flight, a half-hour flying lesson with one of our certified flight instructors that includes:
- A ground briefing,
- An introductory flight, 3000 feet above our Airport (the duration of the flight depends on the weather – typically 20-30 minutes),
- Membership in our club for one month,
- One issue of Soaring, the member magazine of the Soaring Society of America, and
- A free three-month membership to the Soaring Society of America (ends automatically)
The Soaring Orientation Flight costs $140. This includes your one-month membership to Pittsburgh Soaring Club, which allows you to come back, take lessons and fly with an instructor at member rates! Please keep in mind we only fly between April and October.

Gift vouchers
Buying a voucher as a gift for someone? No problem – just give us their name when you pay. The voucher is redeemable during the gliding season (Apr-Oct) up to one year from date of purchase. The voucher is non-refundable.
